For the July 2025 edition, Calgary BR Tech took a break from talks and slides. On July 29, the community met at Rio Bar & Grill, in downtown Calgary, for a night dedicated entirely to networking.
Everyone gets the mic
The idea was simple: instead of one speaker, every attendee was invited to share a bit of their own journey: where they came from, what they do today and what they’ve learned along the way. It’s the kind of evening where you find out the person next to you went through the same visa process, works with the same stack or knows exactly who you should talk to next.
A taste of home
The venue was part of the plan. Rio Bar & Grill’s menu brings Brazilian favourites like coxinha and pastel, which made it easy to keep the conversation going around the table, and harder to leave early.
There’s no recording of this one, just the group photo at the end of the night. Thanks to everyone who came and shared their story.
