The third edition of Calgary BR Tech looked different from our usual meetups. On April 23, 2024, we met in Quarry Park and, instead of rows of chairs facing a screen, the group sat in a circle with Priscila Prado.
A conversation, not a lecture
The format was a hands-on consulting session. Attendees took turns talking about where they were in their job search in Calgary, and Priscila listened to each story and helped think through the next steps. The conversation ran for around three hours, which says a lot about how much people had to share.
Competency-based interviews
Later in the evening, Priscila moved to the screen to talk about competency-based assessment: how recruiters evaluate what a candidate knows, can do and how they act, and why concrete examples matter so much in an interview.
That conversation didn’t end there. Priscila came back in October 2024 to wrap up the topic alongside recruiter Mônica Maciel.
